His voice was first heard over the airwaves in 1965.
First on Citizen Band and later 'pirate' radio, Terry's goal as a child was to one day have his own program on a real radio station.
Coming from the same small town that Alan Freed grew up in, it was meant to be...

Terry was born in Salem, Ohio, (Columbiana County).

Both his father (telephone company 41 years) and stepfather (printing industry 40+ years) impressed upon him at an early age the significance of mass communication.
His mother added an artistic flourish to his development.

From Gutenberg's early presses to the experiments of Marconi and Bell, his inspiration and early heroes included Edison and Orson Welles.

A childhhood interest in paleontology and nuclear / electrical technologies
developed into an obsession with the art and science of photography
by the age of ten.

Terry's exposure to the rapid development of communication technology in the 1960's and 1970's provided him with a unique perspective. A slightly above-average student with extremely broad interests, he spent middle school through college years playing guitar and singing, first as a solo folk music act, later playing bass guitar and singing with regional rock bands.
His involvement in Boy Scouts, varsity football, track, and youth leadership through the church broadened his scope during his young adulthood.

Once enrolled at Ohio State in 1970, he was fortunate to become professionally involved in early experiments in distance learning and advanced communication technology as an employee of The Ohio State University Instructional Television Department. Starting in 1971, first as a production assistant, later as videographer and video director, he expanded his skills to designing and implementing both live and delayed-broadcast educational programming.

He helped establish a student-operated radio station at OSU in 1972
(WOSR 540am) and served there as a volunteer announcer and program director throughout the remainder of his college career.

Between 1972 and 1992 Terry was an occasional TV host on WOSU TV 34, worked as a host and producer of programs on five Columbus area radio stations;
(WCOL-FM '72-'78, WBBY JAZZ 104 FM, '78-'86, Magic 99.7 FM, CD101 FM, and Smooth Jazz 103.5 FM) While program director of WBBY, he developed, wrote and produced a syndicated Jazz radio program which was heard throughout the Midwestern US.

After retiring from the radio business in 1993, Terry spent the remainder of the '90's developing practical commercial applications for the advances of the digital communication revolution.

This led to establishing professional services as an independent television writer videographer and producer.
